One owner, bought New in 1979, Silver face, Big volume knob, Monster Kenwood Integrated Amplifier. This Kenwood Integrated Amp is a Monster Power, Stereo Amplifier with Pure, Focused Kenwood Power and the Sound that made Kenwood famous. You will be hard pressed to find this 40 year old Kenwood Integrated Amplifier in better condition Cosmetically or Functionally than this one you are looking at and reading about now. In 1979, this Kenwood Integrated Amp was Rated at 110 watts per channel Into 8Ω. However, in the past, audio technicians always underrated the output wattage of these amplifiers. This Kenwood performs closer to 130 watts per channel. Cosmetically Excellent, Not Mint but pretty Close! Well cared for throughout it's lifetime and used very sparingly. I have been running it a great deal since it was cleaned and serviced the last 2 weeks to test it for efficacy and functionality. Functionally Mint! Recently Cleaned and Serviced! Amazing Sound! Kenwood KA-801 Integrated Stereo Amplifier listed for parts or repair. This Amplifier is being listed for parts or repair for 1 major reason, the Input Selector is "frozen" on the AUX input. Upon my quest to restore this amplifier, I had it looked over by a local repair technician. Everything has been looked over and given a clean bill of health except the input selector, the repair tech was also unable move it from the AUX input(this included trying to manually change it internally). The other reason this is being listed for parts or repair is because of the missing caps on all of the units toggle switches(see photos). Please note, all of the toggle switches are in perfect working, just missing the caps. Also, power chord has some minor "cuts" as well (see photo). Ok, so now that we got the "bad stuff" out of the way, on to the good! This amp is a true beast at 110 WPC using it's dual power supplies, it sounds awesome! Extremely powerful and it delivers an incredibly clean sound. This is the 2nd from the top of the line in Kenwood's final release in the silver face era of amps.
