Kevin Feige hinted that there would be some changes to the structure of their release calendar earlier this year during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. And we know that Kang will arrive in full in next year’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. But it doesn’t look like he’ll take his place as a major MCU villain until Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, the first of two Avengers movies announced for 2025. Who Is Kang the Conqueror? Hold on, because Kang is the most comic-book-y comic book character you’ve ever encountered. Introduced in 1964’s Avengers #8 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Kang the Conqueror is a time-traveling villain from the 31 st century, who often clashes with the Avengers and the Fantastic Four. His early clashes with the Avengers were standard supervillain stuff, holding the team for ransom or sending them to various points in time. Equally important, he’s very good at looking evil while lounging on a futon or a divan. Over the years, Kang’s escapades through time grew increasingly tangled, to the point that he has many variants running around. Avengers Kang Dynasty And Secret Wars Delayed A Year, As Marvel Shuffles Release Dates

Disney’s film release schedule hit the shuffle button pretty hard, and fans are going to be waiting some time longer now for some of their favorite characters. On Tuesday, What may not exactly come as a surprise, but Marvel's Avengers: Kang Dynasty has been pushed a year to May 1, 2026. The epic feature that was to showcase Jonathan Majors as the MCU's Next Big Bad has been clouded by questions and concerns since the actor is facing assault charges in a New York court. The follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, has also been pushed a year, to May 7, 2027. Marvel also made a few small changes to its schedule. Captain America: Brave New World has moved back three months to July 26, 2024. Thunderbolts has pushed five months to December 20, 2024. Blade with Mahershala Ali has also moved five months to February 14, 2025, while Fantastic Four moved back three months to May 2, 2025. There is some good news for Deadpool fans though: Deadpool 3 will now open in theaters on May 3, 2024, instead of November 8, 2024. After setting the scope for its next two years of projects—with an ambitious, if still transitional, Fantastic Four movie that’s been floating around for a while now (November 8, 2024). But then he went for the big rumors stuff: Two new Avengers movies, titled The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, that’ll serve as the big finale for the “saga.” Those titles might be familiar to the more attentive breed of nerd, both because they’re references to classic Marvel Comics stories, but also because news broke earlier this week that Marvel might be employing them for its upcoming films. (It turns out it does pay to watch a company’s filings in the European copyright offices, apparently.) Of course, we still have absolutely no idea what either of these movies will look like, who’ll be in them, or who’ll make them—beyond having a pretty good assumption that Jonathan Majors’ Kang, who’ll get a more full debut in Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania next February, after sort of appearing in Loki, will probably be involved.
