Kuber Bhandari Temple, Vadodara

26 September 2022. Kuber Bhandari Mandir Karnali, Gujarat. It is a Lord Shiva temple and a very popular religious destination for locals and neighbourhood areas. We were told that on Amavasya there is a congregation of thousands of devotees. As per the legend, at one time Lord Shiva and Parvati were passing through this area. Parvati got tired and felt thirsty and hungry. Lord Shiva could not find anything to eat. He decided to stay at this place so that in the future his presence could provide food and drink for all. The place became famous as Kuber Bhandari or simply as Kuber Temple. Quite a few websites mention that this is the only Kuber, the God of wealth, but I did not see any Kuber idol in the temple. Nicely maintained and comparatively small but beautiful temple. The artistic and amazingly beautiful Multi-coloured geometrically cut glass and mirror pieces, interspersed with female statues make a very beautiful temple dome of the temple which is really a sight to behold. A beautiful collection of headgear (pagdis) is also on display in the temple. The view of the Narmada River and its banks is good and scenic. A nice staired wide ghat descends down to river Narmada. After about an hour we started back for Vadodara. 4 Photos were taken at Kuber Bhandari Temple. All are given here. For zoomable and captioned photos taken there go to the album already opened in a different tab/window. Lord Kubera means Lord of Wealth and Bhandari means repository. Kuber Bhandari Temple...
