Delhi MCD Election Result 2022: The polling for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi was conducted on December 4, 2022. The counting of votes is being conducted today - December 7, 2022. Out of the total number of candidates from the major political parties in the country, the BJP in this election fielded 250 candidates in its 250 MCD Wards. Out of these, 250 candidates 135 are female. BJP which won the Delhi MCD Elections the last term (2017) with 64 seats will be looking to retain power this term as well. The biggest competition for the ruling party is AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) which during its election campaign focused on a Garbage-free Delhi and the education system of the National Capital. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) registered a massive win in the election of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Wednesday, dethroning the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after 15 years. The results were in line with what the exit polls predicted. Early trends after the counting of the votes began earlier in the day showed a close fight between the AAP and the BJP. In the evening, the final poll results revealed that the AAP bagged 134 seats while the BJP settled at 104. The Congress party emerged as a distant third after they managed to win only nine wards. The election for the 250 wards of the MCD was held on December 4, sealing the electoral fate of 1,349 candidates in voting machines. A voter turnout of 50.48 per cent was registered in the election.
