Central Teacher Eligibility Test

INTRODUCTION In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) vide Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 and 29th JULY, 2011 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII. It had been inter alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in Clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE. The Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to the Central Board of Secondary Education Delhi. CTET Exam 2023: The Central of Secondary Education, CBSE will announce the dates of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) December 2022 soon on the official website. As per the notice, the CBSE CTET 2022 is scheduled to be held from December 2022 to January 2023. The exam will be conducted in CBT mode at various test centres across the country. The CTET 2022 examination will be conducted between December 2022-January 2023 on Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. As per the bulletin, the exact date and shift of examination will be mentioned on the admit card of the candidate. The results of CTET 2022 will be tentatively released in February 2023. Speaking about the exam, all questions in CTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be most appropriate. Each carrying one mark and there will be no negative marking. There will be two papers of CTET. Paper I will be for candidates who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V. The subject in Paper I includes: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, Environmental Studies. Paper II will be for those who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII and subjects include Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, and any one subject from Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Science.
