Shimla: Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur on Thursday launched ‘ He said e-Parivahan can be a game changer. He said stress must be laid on educating people to avail this facility, as success would largely depend on how better and easily the people adopt this service. He said that several citizen centric services would be provided to the people through this system. CM Thakur said ever increasing number of vehicles has forced the planners to rethink about traffic management and traffic registration in the country. He said integrated road accident database would be implemented by the NIC so that the web-based IT solutions would enable various agencies such as police, transport, and PWD to enter details of road accidents from different perspective such as road engineering and vehicle conditions. According to the CM, e-Parivahan service would also facilitate the people in issuance of various online certificates and renewal of registration and driving licenses. Thakur said during Corona pandemic, effective use of technology ensured that all the essential services goes uninterrupted. He also said Himachal Pradesh was at 16th rank in ‘ease of doing business’ and today it has achieved 7th position, adding to that e-Parivahan is another step forward in this direction.
