NEW DELHI:Strong earthquake tremors were felt inDelhi-NCR and parts of North India on Tuesday. The earthquake, which struck around 1:30 PM, lasted for a few seconds only. The National Centre for Seismology said that a 5.4 magnitude earthquake jolted Doda in Jammu and Kashmir, triggering strong tremors across north India. The earthquake tremors were felt in Chandigarh, Jaipur, Jammu and Kashmir and other surrounding regions. According to initial reports, earthquake tremors were so strong that they were felt in faraway places like Islamabad, Lahore and adjoining areas in Pakistan. Panic-stricken people took to Twitter to share the update and posted memes recalling the numerous such incidents in the recent past. Earthquake tremors felt in Delhi

By India Today News Desk: A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck eastern Kashmir around 1:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said. According to preliminary reports, the quake occurred 18 km away from Gandoh Bhalessa village in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, at a depth of 30 km. Strong tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir. The shaking was felt in other parts of north India, including national capital Delhi and its adjoining areas.

At least four people were injured and several buildings developed cracks in Doda and Kishtwar districts on Tuesday as an earthquake of 5.4 magnitude struck parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
