Election Commission of India: 2022 Assembly polls will test intent, will of Election Commission and parties amid COVID

ECI'S power to postpone polls Former Chief Election Commissioner SY Quraishi sees no merit in the demand to postpone polls. "Polls cannot be postponed. There were no elections in Delhi, Maharashtra ort Gujarat when elections were on in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu and yet the former had the highest Covid cases and deaths," Rawat said. "Elections were held in Sri Lanka and Poland and other democracies and nowhere is a linkage found between elections and a spike in Covid cases," Rawat added. Betw...
