IN THE MONEY: It seems the sticking point is that Roman Abramovich wants a substantial chunk of the money to go to Russia, or rather Russians affected by the conflict. And neither the British government nor the European Commission will agree to such a move while sanctions are in place against Russia because of Vladimir Putin's aggression against Ukraine. Astonishingly, it seems that Abramovich, himself a sanctioned individual for his closeness to the Putin regime, must 'sign off' on the release of the funds, which he has so far declined to do because he wants the money shared across Russia as well as Ukraine. Manchester United are expected to make an improved £50million offer for Mason Mount this week. It comes after their initial £40m offer for the 24-year-old, whose contract at Chelsea is set to expire in the summer of 2024, was rejected on Wednesday. Much speculation has revolved around his future at the London club for some time now, with Erik ten Hag's side emerging as the front runners to sign the England midfielder. A Manchester City supporters group has slammed the FA and ITV for their scheduling of the Community Shield and has called on fans to boycott the pre-season cup clash at Wembley. Last year's Community Shield was hosted at Leicester's King Power stadium with 28,545 Liverpool and Man City supporters making the journey the midlands. However, the decision to move the cup tie back to the home of English football has seen the 1894 supporters group call on City ...
