Gavin Casalegno plays Jeremiah in the new Amazon Prime series The Summer I Turned Pretty. In the show, Isabel ‘Belly’ Conklin has a crush on Jeremiah’s older brother Stephen and considers Jeremiah a close friend. However, Jeremiah harbors romantic feelings for Belly, but he finds it difficult to express those emotions. With an entire summer ahead of her at the idyllic Cousins Beach, Belly faces a tough choice: Jeremiah or Conrad. The series has given Gavin plenty of attention, but he isn’t a newcomer on the acting scene. He played young Damon in Vampire Diaries– which was also a series about two brothers chasing after one girl. Gavin Casalegno was born on 2nd September 1999 in Lewisville, Texas, into a Christian family. Casalegno is the oldest of three siblings and has a close relationship with his mom. “She’s such a rock in who I am and my foundation for everything that I’ve done as far as my career, my identity, everything,” Gavin told Casalegno told Red Ledger that he got into acting through modeling: “I was really young and didn’t know anything. My mom had a friend that recommended us to this agency and it started off modeling. I modeled for like four years and after that, I got my first audition and I wanted to see how my career goes.” Gavin landed roles in TV shows and films like Noah, The Vampire Diaries, Nine Seconds, and The Unhealer, but he struggled to book major parts. Gavin told Popsugar that he was about to swap acting for real estate before auditioning for J...

The Summer of Gavin Casalegno

It can be a tall order to bring a character from a beloved book to life on screen. But for Gavin Casalegno, the task couldn’t have been easier. The 22-year-old, who plays Jeremiah Fisher on Prime Video’s upcoming series based on Jenny Han’s The Summer I Turned Pretty books , was struck by how similar he was to his character. “Jeremiah, quite frankly, is me in real life,” says Casalegno. “When I got the character breakdown, I was literally questioning how they knew me so well.” To a decade worth of young readers, The Summer I Turned Pretty series represented an escape into a salty, sunny, ocean-filled dream world filled with first parties, first kisses, and first loves (and where summer romances when not one, but TWO boys liked you were totally possible). The books quickly reached cult-classic status, so when the news first broke that the series was being adapted into a show, fans justifiably freaked out. Gavin wears all clothing Uniqlo and Marni 2022 Spring Summer Collection throughout. With tan skin, piercing blue eyes, and a mop of curly brown hair, it’s easy to see why Casalegno was cast as the beloved Jeremiah, the life-of-the-party younger brother of brooding “bad boy” Conrad (Chris Briney), and one-third of the book’s central love triangle. Even over Zoom, his big smile and easy-going personality shine through – very Jeremiah of him: “Jeremiah is just a go with the flow, lots of energy, can be friends with anybody guy,” the actor says. “I got lucky to be able to just...

Who Is Gavin Casalegno? Meet the 'Summer I Turned Pretty' Star

Team Jeremiah! While Conrad Fisher gets a lot of hype — and love — in The Summer I Turned Pretty, his younger brother is a notable force. In the Prime Video series, which was Jenny Han’s YA book trilogy of the same name, teenager Isabel “Belly” Conklin ( Lola Tung) is eagerly looking forward to another summer at Cousins Beach alongside her brother, Stephen, and family friends Conrad and Jeremiah. The catch? Belly Christopher Briney) and hopes it’s finally the year that he notices her in a new light. I don’t have a brother, but I feel like I can now imagine what it is like to have a brother. I think we pretty na...
