By India Today Web Desk: The Central government has made it mandatory for citizens to link their PAN card with their Aadhaar card. The new guidelines came under the new section (section 234H) of the Income-tax Act 1961. The new section was introduced by the government on 31 March 2021, when the Finance Bill 2021 was passed in the lower house of the parliament. Due to the rage of the coronavirus pandemic in the country, the central government has extended the deadline to link PAN and Aadhaar card. Earlier, the last day for the same, was 31 March but now it has been extended to 30 June. To make sure that the two identity numbers are linked in the income tax department's database, you can follow these easy steps. The deadline for linking Aadhaar with PAN has been extended to 30 June 2023. Non-compliance on this will result in the PAN will become inoperative from April 1, 2023.
