Indira Gandhi National Open University is inviting applications for a 36-hour free professional development programme on implementation of national education policy (NEP) 2020 for university and college teachers. Interested candidates can apply for the programme at IGNOU's official website- ignou-nep-pdp.samarth.ac.in. The duration of the programme is 36 hours of training that is equivalent to a six day short term professional development programme. The time duration for a particular time batch is of 12 days. Any higher education permanent, parti-time or temporary teacher can join the University Grants Commission (UGC) approved programme free of cost. The programme will be useful for API, CAS and other career advancement requirements specified by UGC. The participants will receive a digital certificate after securing a minimum of 50% marks on the online test. news details 8/18/2022 10:44:44 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 18: National Education Policy 2020 was released by the Government of India in July 2020 and various efforts are being made by a number of higher education Institutions towards its effective implementation. Teachers being the key players, about 15 lakh teachers of the Universities and Colleges need to be oriented on various recommendations of the policy. The Union Ministry of Education has entrusted the responsibility of orienting the higher education teachers on implementation of NEP-2020 to the UGC and IGNOU. Indira Gandhi National Open University has developed a nation-wide 36-hour (6 days) Professional Development Programme (NEP-PDP) which is equivalent to UGC-HRDC short term PDP and can be completed in a maximum of nine days. For NEP-PDP, registration shall take place on the SAMARTH online platform in respective states by IGNOU Regional Centres and the programme delivery shall take place on the SWAYAM platform by the IGNOU Headquarters. The registration for the said programme has started on August 15, 2022. The programme shall be conducted in various batches, as specified in the SAMARTH portal and a teacher can register for any suitable batch.
