Sarfaraz Khan To Suryakumar Yadav: 5 Players Who Can Replace Cheteshwar Pujara In Indian Test Team

Sarfaraz Khan, who has scored close to 2500 runs in the last three Ranji Trophy seasons combined, along with the world's No. 1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav, will be among the leading contenders who can replace out-of-form Cheteshwar Pujara in the Indian Test team as a No. 3 batter for the upcoming two-match Test series against the West Indies. The lack of runs from his bat has put Pujara’s place in the Indian Test team under scanner. He was dropped from the side last year but managed to make a comeback after scoring mountains of runs for Sussex in the county championship, but this time it will be difficult. The BCCI might look to bring in new guys and not give another opportunity to someone like Pujara, who is already 35. With the new World Test Championship cycle set to start with a two-match series against the West Indies in the Caribbean islands next month, there’s a high possibility that Pujara might get dropped and someone else who has performed well in domestic cricket might get rewarded with a place in the Indian team. Here’s a look at five players who can replace Pujara in the Indian Test team: Sarfaraz Khan: No player has managed to score more runs than Sarfaraz Khan in the Ranji Trophy in the last three seasons. The 25-year-old Mumbaikar deserves a chance to play Test cricket for India and is most likely to get his due opportunity in the West Indies next month. In 37 first-class matches, he has so far managed to score a total of 3505 runs, which came at an averag...
