In the air ambulance, Lalu (74) was accompanied by a team of doctors and his eldest daughter Misa Bharti. Bharti is a Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha MP and is also MBBS degree holder. Lalu’s wife Rabri Devi and younger son Tejashwi travelled to Delhi earlier in the day yesterday to oversee arrangements for the RJD chief’s medical treatment.

Earlier on Sunday, he suffered a fall at 10 circular road official residence of his wife Rabri Devi and sustained a minor fracture on his right shoulder. He is also suffering from infections in kidney and lungs besides blood pressure and other ailments.

Ranchi: RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav's health has deteriorated due to a festering boil on his right leg, the doctor attending him said Sunday. Lalu Yadav is currently lodged in a paying ward of the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences. The sugar level and blood pressure of the RJD chief, who is a diabetic, have shot up in the past two to three days due to the boil, Dr Umesh Prasad of the RIMS, who attends him, told PTI. The former Bihar chief minister's dose of insulin has been increased to bring down the sudden increase in sugar level, he said. The doctor said Lalu Yadav's creatinine level has also increased to 1.85 from 1.5 and so has the while blood cell count to 12,000, the normal range of which is between 4,000 and 8,000. "It will take some time for the infectious boil to heal," the doctor, who is monitoring the RJD chief's health condition round-the-clock, said. Due to the boil, the RJD chief is experiencing difficulty in standing up and going to the washroom, sources close to him said. When asked if the RJD chief needs to be shifted to any other hospital, Umesh Prasad said proper care of the patient was being taken at the RIMS. Amid health issues faced by ex-Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Friday, his son Tejashwi said that he along with brother Tej Pratap and mother Rabri Devi will visit him at Ranchi's Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS). Lalu was admitted to RIMS after he complained of experiencing breathing issues on Thursday. Dr Kameshwar Prasad, Director, RIMS assured that the condition of the RJD leader is stable. Lalu Prasad Yadav's Health Worsens, Being Shifted To Delhi AIIMS

Ranchi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav is being taken to the AIIMS Delhi from Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi on Tuesday after his health condition worsened. "It was found that he has issues in his heart and kidney. He is being sent to AIIMS Delhi for better treatment. The jail officials will decide (the date)," said Kameshwar Prasad, Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Director. The Jharkhand High Court on March 11 differed the hearing on the bail plea of Yadav till April 1 in connection with a fodder scam case. Earlier in February, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court had sentenced Yadav to five years imprisonment in the fifth fodder scam case and imposed a fine of Rs 60 lakh on him. Mr Yadav was declared guilty in the fodder scam case on February 15. He was found guilty of illegal withdrawals of Rs 139.35 crore from the Doranda treasury by a special CBI court in Jharkhand's Ranchi. The Rs 950-crore fodder scam (the total scam of five fodder scams, Lalu has been proven guilty of) relates to the fraudulent withdrawal of public funds from government treasuries in various districts of undivided Bihar. The scam came into light after a raid conducted by Deputy Commissioner of Chaibasa Amit Khare at the Animal Husbandry Department in January 1996.
