Last night, New Orleans dressed up to welcome the most important beauty pageant in the world: Miss Universe! The United States is the country that has won the event the most, taking the crown nine times. Their last win was yesterday, with R’Bonney (Miss Texas), declared the winner after an 84-nation competition. Who is R’Bonney Gabriel, the winner of Miss Universe 2023? R’Bonney Gabriel is a model from San Antonio, Texas. She is 28 years old and has a degree in fashion and clothing design from the University of North Texas, where she graduated in 2018. She is the daughter of an American and a Filipino, who arrived in the United States with only 20 dollars in himpocket, but managed to excel and pursue a doctorate in Psychology from the University of Houston. Once she finished her university studies, R’Bonney created herown fashion firm, R’Bonney Nola. She also partnered with Magpies & Peacocks, where she teaches sewing classes. She was elected Miss USA after a pageant at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, where she beat representatives from Illinois, Nebraska, North Carolina and Miss Ohio.
