The state of Madhya Pradesh has come up with the e-Challan system and enabled the state officials and police department to cut short their manual labor to a significant level. The police and traffic officials would not have the authority to issue challans online and the violators would now have the convenience to view and pay their challans online. This is indeed a step forward towards e-governance. Traffic Challans are issued in cases of traffic violations. The challans issued by traffic officials earlier was either on the spot for the violators or through the post, which was sent to the registered address of the violators. With technology taking the center stage in almost all the departments of central and state governments, traffic police operations to have become a matter of click, due to services like e-Challans. The e-Challans have been working great in states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka and now it’s Madhya Pradesh Government which has taken the initiative. Benefits of Traffic e-Challan in Madhya Pradesh: • It cut downs the manual labor • It minimizes the bribery to a significant level • The e-Challan system makes the government machinery a transparent system of governance and thus provides the citizen of the state a sense of safety and security. • Everything is documented and any official can’t harass any citizen • The officials would be accountable to any action they are taking against the citizens or violators. As a big step towards digitalization and to bring in transparency, e-Challan system is adopted by the police department of Madhya Pradesh . eChallan was inaugurated by Shri Makrand Deusakar, Commissioner Police Bhopal on 19/05/2022 in the presence of ADG Sh. J. Janardan, Nodal eChallan-MP, Dy. Director General & SIO NIC MPSC Shri Amar Kumar Sinha, Sr. Technical Director & GM-NICSI Shri Swadesh Shrivastava, iRAD-SRM Sh. Goutam. Other senior police officers, officials of the leading banks and POS machine vendors were also present on this occasion.
