Nashik rural police arrested two men in separate cases for allegedly putting up posts glorifying Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. According to the police, in the first incident, a post by one Shoaib Maniyar allegedly triggered tension in the district’s Ghoti region on Friday. Local residents gathered outside a police station and sought action against Maniyar over the Facebook post which they said hurt their religious sentiments, the police said. A case was subsequently filed against Maniyar and he was taken into custody. The Dhule unit of the “The structure was illegal and was being built without permission. The incident took place on May 13, when a group of Muslims tried to enter the temple, which only allows Hindus to enter. Several videos of the incident have been doing the rounds on social media platforms. The group was stopped by security guards outside the temple. Nashik's Shame: Cow vigilantes lynch Muslim man suspected of cattle

Nashik: In a shocking incident, at least six cow-vigilantes have been arrested by the Igatpuri Police for allegedly lynching a Thane man to death and injuring another, on suspicion of cattle smuggling, the said here on Wednesday. The alleged lynching that took place last week came to light after the police recovered the body of the victim, identified as Lukman Sulaiman Ansari (25) of Padgha in Thane district, on Saturday (June 10). Luqman's dead body dumped in gorge Ansari's body was found dumped in a 150-metre deep gorge in the Ghatandevi area. The police launched a probe immediately, Nashik (Rural) Superintendent of Police, Shahaji Umap, told mediapersons. It was on Thursday (June 8) when Ansari along with his friends Atiq Paddi and Aqueel Gavandi purchased a bullock, two cows and a calf for around Rs 18,000 from a farmer-woman in Shahapur and were transporting the same in an LMV tempo to Padgha. Enroute, they were intercepted by over 15 so-called cow-vigilantes, who came in three cars and motorcycles, near Shahapur. They attempted to extort money from Ansari and his friends, but when refused, they took over the tempo, 'rescued' the four bovines and drove the vehicle to Ghatandevi. They stopped the tempo at an isolated spot near the hilly areas and started brutally assaulting the trio with sticks and iron rods. Rural Cops Seize Gutka Worth ₹60k

Nashik: The Nashik rural police on Wednesday seized gutka worth Rs 60,000 from two pan stall owners in Satana. The seizure was done as a part of its special drive against the illegal storage and transportation of gutka in the district. Similarly, on June 6, the rural police took action against five vendors in Ayeshanagar, Azadnagar, Pimpalgaon Baswant, Sinnar, and Satana and seized gutka worth over Rs 1.5 lakh from them. The five accused were also arrested. SP Shahaji Umap has appealed to people to call them on 6262256363 if they have any information about the sale, transport, and storage of gutka, and other banned tobacco products. TNN
