Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan`s highly anticipated movie 'Pathan'is set for a 2022 release instead of the earlier plans to release it in 2021. Film critic and movie trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the same on his Instagram handle on Sunday. He wrote, "#BreakingNews... #Pathan - which marks #SRK`s return to the big screen after a hiatus - will release in 2022... Not 2021... #SRK collaborates with leading production house #YRF after a long gap." After the center`s decision of allowing 100 percent occupancy in cinema halls, Yash Raj Films (YRF) had recently announced their 2021 slate for the films set to be releasing this year. However, the production company didn't announce the release date for 'Pathan'. The film would have marked Khan`s comeback to the big screen after a hiatus of almost 3 years. 'Pathan'is also hyped up as it will feature an extended cameo of Salman Khan. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, ‘Pathan’ is included in Yash Raj Films’ 50 years slate. With SRK returning to set earlier last year, it’s being reported that Deepika and SRK worked throughout this month and have recently completed the second schedule of the film shoot as well. With over Rs 540 crore in domestic revenue and Rs 1046 at the global box office, it has become the Hindi picture with the highest-ever box office earnings. The Siddharth Anand-directed film, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and debuted in theatres on January 25, has already surpassed all previous records for box office gross. The film, which is Shah Rukh Khan's comeback after a 5-year hiatus, also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in pivotal roles. Pathaan, which releases on January 25, will have a box office clash with Rajkumar Santoshi's Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh, which will make it to theatres a day later on January 26. Pathaan on OTT: Shah Rukh Khan's film to arrive on streaming platform on THIS date, details leaked Pathaan on OTT: During the court proceedings regarding Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham's starrer, the details of Pathaan's online release on streaming platform were leaked on the Internet. Meanwhile, for making it accessible for hearing and visually impaired audience, the Delhi High Court on Monday directed Yash Raj Films to develop subtitles, close captioning and audio description in Hindi for 'Pathaan' movie's OTT release and submit the same to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for a decision on re-certification by February 20. The High Court directed that a decision on the recertification of the film be taken by March 10. A single-bench judge Justice Pratibha M.
