By India Today Sports Desk: Kolkata Knight Riders opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz on Thursday became the first Afghan player to score a fifty in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Gurbaz played a brilliant 57-run knock to bail out KKR from the troubled waters against Royal Challengers Bangalore before departing in the 12th over. The 21-year-old Afghanistan batter was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders from Gujarat Titans during the trade window, and he has so far repaid the faith and justified his selection. The Afghanistan opener got off to a great start and kept hammers and tongs despite losing partners at the other end.
