Exclusive! Raza Murad: Rishi Kapoor used to lose temper and scold Rajiv on the sets of Prem Rog

“We have known each other since more than 40 years. The first time I worked with him was in 1980 where I was a part of Rahul Rawail’s Gunehgaar. He was assisting Rahul in that film. Though a son of Raj Kapoor he never had an air about it. He was very respectful towards people. He would mingle with each and every one including the workers on the sets. He used to have food with the workers and even sleep by their side when we were shooting for Prem Rog (1982). He used to sweep the floor too. Interestingly, he was an assistant to Raj saab, who was directing that film. Well, that was the training given to him by Raj saab that before becoming a star, you must lead a normal life,” says Raza. Remembering the times of Ram Teri Ganga Maili, he adds, “I was the main villain, while he played the main lead. During the climax scene, he was supposed to beat me to pulp. After every shot he would come to me and apologize. He would ask, ‘Sorry Raza saab, kahi lagi toh nahi? I am not feeling good doing this scene as I love you and respect you’. Actually, we were like a family. We used to joke together, eat together and bonded really well.” The actor who also worked with him in films like Naag Naagin (1989) and Henna (1991) has some interesting memories to share from the sets of Prem Rog where he used to get scolded by older brother Rishi Kapoor. “He was an assistant on the film, while Rishi was the lead, who would lose temper on him. But never ever did he back answer Rishi. Like an obedient...
