Simple things can be difficult sometimes." In the short video clip, the first part shows the time when Pant was struggling to climb up stairs and needed support of railings while the second part showed a confident version of him fearlessly climbing up the stairs.

Rishabh Pant's Massive Recovery Update: BCCI Official Says Likely To Return To Cricket Earlier Than Anticipated

India's Rishabh Pant, who was involved in a serious car accident last year, is making good progress ahead of a possible return to cricket. While there was earlier speculation that he would need multiple surgeries, a BCCI official has clarified that he never did and is likely to return earlier than anticipated. The 25-year-old is in good spirits and has already started working on strengthening exercises. After regular checks, doctors have now ruled out the need for a second surgery. However, the star player is set to miss the ODI World Cup taking place in India later this year. "Let's make it clear that Pant never had multiple surgeries, as was speculated. There was much anxiety over another surgery. He was monitored every fortnight. Fortunately, his progress has been better than expected. This is a big boost for him. It could mean his comeback can happen a lot earlier than what was first expected,” a BCCI source privy to the development told TOI. The 25-year-old had undergone major surgery on the medial collateral ligament (MCL) and minor repair on the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), and while the doctors were hopeful of a natural recovery of the rest of the injured ligaments, the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) was a cause for concern for the doctors. However, based on the kind of progress the star India cricketer has made, the second surgery has now been ruled out.

Rishabh Pant Profile

At 19, Rishabh Pant has gone through all the highs and lows of a cricketing career. A promising talent from Delhi, Pant came into reckoning after his exploits for India Under-19 in the 2016 World Cup. A dashing left-handed wicket-keeper batsman, he lit up the tournament with a blitzing 24-ball 75, the fastest half-century of the tournament, against Nepal and followed it up with a century against Namibia. India lost the title round - but came back with several positives - nothing bigger than the emergence of Pant. Pant's heroics didn't go unnoticed, and days after his Nepal stunner, he was drafted in by the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL auctions. He gained a permanent place in Delhi's domestic circuit and by the end of the season was even named as their captain, albeit for the one-day format of the game. In between, he made his full India debut, against England in a Twenty20 international in Bengaluru. The second Ranji season for Rishabh wasn't as good as the first one. But he made up for that in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He smashed the second fastest hundred in the T-20 history in just 32 balls against Himachal Pradesh. This knock brought him into the selectors reckoning again and he was named in the Nidhas Trophy team. Pant again had a disappointing outing in his comeback match. He hasn't been himself at the international level and often tried to hit the ball too hard to his liking and failed to portray his hitting prowess. Strangely, his strike rate in the International...

'Simple things can be difficult': Pant breaks the internet with health update

Pant had started his recover at the NCA in April(Rishabh Pant Instagram) Pant did not mention how old the first video was. He had earlier posted a video of him abandoning his crutches and showing that he could walk without support once again. Pant's post on Wednesday drew a lot of reactions, most notably from his India teammate Axar Patel and women's team star Harleen Deol. While Axar posted a few emojis in support of Pant in the comments of his Instagram post, Deol said: “Well done boy, keep your bhangra performance ready”. Pant is recovering from the injuries he sustained from a horrific car crash that he suffered on December 30, 2022 and this is set to keep him out of action for the rest of the year. His absence was first felt by his Indian Premier League (IPL) side Delhi Capitals. Later, Pant was sorely missed in India's middle order during the WTC Final. Pant had made a visit to the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi for one of DC's home games and in May, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that he interacted with the under-16 players present at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Pant started his rehabilitation at the NCA this April. The wicket-keeper batter had met with a car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. After receiving initial treatment in Dehradun, he was airlifted to Mumbai for better and more specialised treatment. Pant has been ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League and is also out of action in international cric...
