AGRA: A day after a 30-year-old fashion and food blogger from Ghaziabad, identified as Ritika Singh, was thrown off from the fourth floor of a rented flat in Agra's Tajganj area with her hands tied and killed instantly, a video of her estranged husband, Akash Gautam, trying to destroy the evidence has gone viral on social media. In the video, Gautam is seen trying to untie the victim's hands and removing the cloth from her mouth. However, he failed in his attempts, as he was nabbed by the building's residents. Ritika was staying with a friend, Vipul Agarwal, whom she had met on Facebook. Agarwal, a tax lawyer, was present in the flat at the time of the murder. An FIR was registered against Gautam and some unidentified people under IPC section 302 (murder) and section 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) based on a complaint filed by the victim's father, Surendra Singh, a worker in a shoe factory in Noida. A resident of Ghaziabad, Singh lives with his wife Manju and son Utkarsh, a student of class XI. He said Ritika had eloped with Gautam in 2014. He had lodged a police complaint then but she gave a statement in his favour and the family could not do anything. The couple got married six years ago, he said.
