The Act reserves 25% of seats for economically disadvantaged children in non-aided and minority private schools up to the 8th grade. In Chhattisgarh, this scheme was implemented from the academic session of 2010-11 and was initially limited to 8th grade. However, the scheme was revised in 2019, and now students in Chhattisgarh are eligible for free education up to the 12th grade. Children between the ages of 3 to 6.5 years in the state are eligible for admission to private schools under this scheme. Once admitted, students can receive free education up to the 12th grade.
