SERTACONAZOLE NITRATE+BECLOMETHASONE DIPROPIONATE is a dermatological medication indicated for the topical treatment of fungal infection of the skin with eczema. Fungal infection is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the tissue and causes infection. Fungal infections may be contagious (spread from one person to another). SERTACONAZOLE NITRATE+BECLOMETHASONE DIPROPIONATE is a combination of two drugs, namely: Sertaconazole nitrate (antifungal) and Beclomethasone dipropionate (corticosteroid). Sertaconazolenitrate works by damaging the fungal cell membranes, ultimately killing fungi. On the other hand, Beclomethasone dipropionate works byinhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. SERTACONAZOLE NITRATE+BECLOMETHASONE DIPROPIONATE is only for external use.Some people may experience skin tenderness, mild rash, dry skin, skin bruising, itching, irritation, redness, burning, or stinging sensation at the application site. 1 INDICATIONS AND USAGE Zalain Vaginal ® (sertaconazole nitrate) cream, 2%, is indicated for the topical treatment of interdigital tinea pedis in immunocompetent patients 12 years of age and older, caused by: Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and Epidermophyton floccosum [see Clinical Studies (14) ].
