Inquiry Awaits Teachers Not Updating Shiksha Setu Profile: Ranoj Pegu

STAFF REPORTER GUWAHATI: "An inquiry will be initiated against the teachers who have not yet updated their profiles in the Shiksha Setu Portal." This was announced by the Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, in a meeting with the officers of the Education Department. The Education Minister said that in the case of the Shiksha Setu Portal, the process of updating the teachers’ profiles will have to be completed within a short period of time. All the districts are requested to gear up the updating of teacher profiles in the Shiksha Setu Portal so that the process can be completed immediately. Further, the minister said, "An inquiry will have to be initiated against the teachers who do not update their profile in the Shiksha Setu Portal to confirm whether they are presently working in the school or not. Till the report of the inquiry comes out, the salary of the teachers concerned will have to be kept withheld." The meeting came to the decision that there will be a provision in the Shiksha Setu Portal for teachers who are attached to any other school in the interest of the public. There will be a provision in the Shiksha Setu Portal to erase the list of already closed schools. As many border area school teachers have bank accounts in the banks of Meghalaya, the matter of linking the bank names of Meghalaya in the Shiksha Setu Portal will be explored.
