Every year January 26 is celebrated as Republic Day in India. In the year 2022 i.e. this year the country is celebrating its 74th Republic Day. In the year 1947, the country got independence from the British Raj, but it did not have its own constitution. India got its constitution on 26 January 1950. On this day the Indian Constitution came into force and with this India became a sovereign state, which was declared a republic.
