Spice terrace

JW Marriott has quite a few lovely spaces in their property. Alba being one – overlooking the Cubbon Park and BBC with it’s beautiful and windy alfresco. Well, Spice Terrace doesn’t fall short at all – overlooking the lovely pool of JW Marriott and UB Tower against the skies. We were at Spice Terrace for lunch this Sunday, and it was rather pleasant and quite undisturbed. The crowds definitely chose JW Kitchen hosting the famed Sunday brunch. Some Togarashi Edamame anyone? What works very well for the property is that the food in each restaurant is distinct and quite brilliant. The bar menu here has some kebabs, Asian appetizers and Mediterranean tapas style food – offering options to pair with their cocktails and beers. The concept of this menu is simple classic food, with a healthy twist or a global take on the dishes. Indian Masala Spiked Tortillas came recommended from the chef, as JW’s version of masala papad, and they were so good! Dry mango, onion, tomato, lemon loaded on crispy tortilla puffs – went perfectly with the Abbey Dark we started with. Spice Terrace has an in-house brewery, making JW the only hotel perhaps in the city to have their own. Spiced Tortillas The Mushrooms didn’t work much for me. But the Kute Laal Mirch Ka Jhinga was an exquisite preparation of jumbo prawns. Looked and tasted divine! And I loved that it came with a side of makhna, that’s perfect with the beer.
