Upcoming movies 2023

Kids today are lucky. Looking ahead to 2023's movie-release calendar, the schedule is packed with fun, family-friendly films of all stripes, and some of them look like they have a shot at taking one of the spots for the best kids' movies of 2023, listed in the order in which they're going to be released — though release dates do tend to shuffle around, so it's best to check your local listings before you head out to the theater. So, what's on tap for this year? Of course, superhero movies abound, and a new Spider-Man movie is sure to excite little web-slingers. Major blockbusters, crowd-pleasing horror, and much-anticipated sequels. Next year’s release calendar is full of reasons to head back to the theater. In 2023, movie lovers can look forward to more than a few Marvel heroes, a comedy starring a cocaine-addled bear, and M3gan, the AI android who is already the biggest star of the year. For those who prefer their home theater to the multiplex, you can Talented toy maker Gemma (Alison Williams) creates a high functioning lifelike doll named M3gan—whose name stands for Model Three Generative Android—to protect her grieving niece from emotional and physical harm. Let’s just say the titular star of this campy horror film takes her job very seriously. Shotgun Wedding (Jan. 27) Cue the Donna Summer because Magic Mike film. The ever charming Mike Lane (Tatum) gets another chance at stardom with a little help from a wealthy socialite, played by Salma Hayek Pinault, who whisks him off to London to start a dance revue that will get everyone hot and bothered. Sharper (Feb. 10 in select theaters, Feb. 17 on Apple TV+) Julianne Moore stars in this enigmatic drama about the hidden secrets of New York City and the people who keep them. Looking through this list, we're the most excited about Sam Esmail's thriller Leave the World Behind, an adaptation of a pager-turner of a novel that stars Julia Roberts and Mahershala Ali. The book it's based on is all about an Airbnb vacation gone horribly wrong, but it's not at all like Barbarian, which bears the same description.
