Dow Jones 30 Industrial

Dow Futures is a stock market index futures contract traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange`s Globex electronic trading platform. Dow Futures is based off the Dow 30 stock index. The Dow 30 is a price-weighted average of 30 significant stocks traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the NASDAQ. There are three types of Dow futures, the E-mini Dow, DJIA and Big Dow DJIA. The E-mini is the most popular.

Major indexes shook off afternoon lows. The S&P 500 finished up 0.1%, while the Nasdaq Composite was ahead 0.4%. The blue-chip Dow industrials fell 0.7%, or 233 points.
