Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who was currently busy shooting for his forthcoming film, Selfiee, with Emraan Hashmi has completed a schedule wrap on April 20, 2021. The film is set to be Akshay and Emraan's debut collaboration, and it is billed as an entertainer that would have plenty of humour and emotions. SELFIEE RELEASE DATE OUT The makers announced that the film will release on February 24, 2023. The official statement by the makers read, “Dharma Productions, Prithviraj Productions, Magic Frames, and Cape of Good Films’ previously announced 'Selfiee', starring Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi along with Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha will now release on February 24, 2023.” The drama-comedy, is being directed by Raj Mehta who helmed movies like Good Newwz and JugJugg Jeeyo. Selfiee is produced by Johar’s Dharma Productions and Kumar’s Cape of Good Films, along with Sukumaran’s Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames. As per reports, Akshay will be seen portraying the role of a superstar in this suspense thriller. On the other hand, Emraan will play a cop who will be a fan of the superstar. Around five years ago, Emraan Hashmi turned author with The Kiss of Life - How Superhero & My Son Defeated Cancer, a book he has co-authored with Bilal Siddiqi. When it came to writing the foreword, he turned to Akshay Kumar. Akshay agreed and penned the foreword for the same. The two actors are now teaming up for the first time for a film. Akshay and Emraan will be seen together in Karan Johar’s next production, which will be directed by Good Newwz director Raj Mehta. A source reveals, “This is the first time the two actors are going to work together. The film is a remake of the Malyalam film Driving License which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles.
