NEW DELHI: Now people in transferable jobs, in both government and private sectors, can get their existing vehicles registered under the 'Bharat' (BH) series. Until now such registration was allowed only for new vehicles. Owners of vehicles registered under BH series or with BH number plates don't need to apply for 'No Objection Certificate' (NOC) when they move from one state to another for their jobs. This reduces hassles, paperwork and time as they don't need to apply for a new registration when they shift to another state. As per the rules, a government or public sector unit employee can apply for this registration number. In the case of private sector employees, the employer company or entity must have its offices in more than four states or Union Territories. The road transport ministry has notified the changes, which also allow the transfer of ownership of the vehicles with BH series registration mark to other persons, who are eligible to own such vehicles. It also allows flexibility to submit applications for BH series either at the place of residence or place of work. The private sector employees need to submit a detailed "working certificate" from the employer mentioning the GST, PAN and registration numbers. Similarly, the details of the employees including his/ her PAN and Unique Account numbers have to be submitted. This has been done to prevent misuse.
