An amount of Rs 33.55 crore has been released by the government in the last financial year and more than Rs 4.5 crore in the current financial year. As per the conditions of the scheme, either the boy or girl should belong to the Scheduled Caste. Anyone who is not more than 35 years of age, not have been convicted in any criminal case. The combined income of the couple should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh per annum. The benefit under the scheme will be payable if the application is received within a period of a year from the date of marriage (first marriage only).
