NASA Images Discover Ancient Bridge between India and Sri Lanka

Published on October 18th, 2021 | by Madhudvisa dasa | 506 NASA Images Discover Ancient Bridge between India and Sri Lanka Space images taken by NASA reveal a mysterious ancient bridge in the Palk Strait between India and Sri Lanka. The recently discovered bridge currently named as Adam’s Bridge is made of chain of shoals, c.18 mi (30 km) long. The bridge’s unique curvature and composition by age reveals that it is man made. The legends as well as Archeological studies reveal that the first signs of human inhabitants in Sri Lanka date back to the a primitive age, about 1,750,000 years ago and the bridge’s age is also almost equivalent. This information is a crucial aspect for an insight into the mysterious legend called Ramayana, which was supposed to have taken place in treta yuga (more than 1,700,000 years ago). In this epic, there is a mentioning about a bridge, which was built between Rameshwaram (India) and Srilankan coast under the supervision of a dynamic and invincible figure called Rama who is supposed to be the incarnation of the supreme. This information may not be of much importance to the archeologists who are interested in exploring the origins of man, but it is sure to open the spiritual gates of the people of the world to have come to know an ancient history linked to the Indian mythology. Scientists and NASA Satellite Imagery proves Ram

With recent release of Akshay Kumar’s new movie promo- Ram-Setu, talks of its existence and mystery are in rounds again. Ram Setu, as per Indian mythology, was a bridge built by an army of monkeys on the Indian ocean who were assisting Lord Rama in his quest to rescue Sita (his wife) from King Ravana in Lanka. Stretching 30 miles the Ram-Setu (also known as Adam’s Bridge) connects Dhanushkodi in India with Mannar Island in Sri Lanka. But lack of enough evidences over the years could not validate its presence and in 2007 Congress party’s Kapil Sibal (the then union minister of state) argued that there is no scientific proof of Ram Setubeing a man-made bridge. But in 2018, a fresh life was blown into it after Discovery Communications-owned ‘Science Channel’ aired an episode that provided scientific evidence to a man-made bridge between India and Sri Lanka. The episode was aired on the Science Channel in the show – What on Earth in an episode called Ancient Land Bridge. The science channel used NASA’s satellite imagery and other evidences to prove the existence ofRam Setu. The team of investigation displayed how the rocks connecting India and Sri Lanka are placed on a sandbar (also known as a shoal) and the investigators believe that the sandbar is natural however the stones placed on top of that sandbar, are not natural. Adam’s Bridge Between India and Sri Lanka Before 1480

Map found The map above shows what Adam’s Bridge (aka Rama’s Bridge or Ram Setu) in the Palk Strait might have looked like prior to 1480 when it connected India and Sri Lanka. In 1480 a cyclone supposedly deepened the channels between India and Sri Lanka, rendering it impassible by foot. However, today some sections are still only between 1 and 10 meters (3 and 30 feet deep) as can be seen in this photo from NASA’s Landsat 7 satellite: This makes it awkward for shipping, as large boats can not pass between the two countries, forcing them to travel around Sri Lanka. The Palk Straight itself is only 33 miles (53 km) wide at its narrowest point. Thus, both a Another “if Lord Rama constructed Ram Setu, he had also destroyed it.” This is a reference to it’s creation as told in the Hindu epic Ramayana, which you can read from the following sources: • • • Find this map interesting? Unravelling the mysterious origin of Adam's Bridge

Hindus regard Ram Setu, also known as Adam’s Bridge, as a holy site. It is a supposed land bridge that connects Sri Lanka and the Indian subcontinent, which is mentioned in Hindu mythology and early Islamic texts. Adam’s Bridge (Ram Setu), Sri Lanka. © It’s interesting to note that this bridge was once walkable in the 15th century, but as time and storms progressed, the passageway became somewhat more profound, and the entire channel sank deeper into the ocean. Ram Setu in Hindu mythology 19th-century Ramayana manuscript, Rama Thagyin (Myanmar version), the monkey army building a stone bridge to cross sea on way to Lanka. © According to Hindu mythology’s Ramayana book, Lord Rama, the supreme being, ordered the building of this bridge in order to vanquish the wicked Demon King Ravana. The evil king imprisoned Sita in his impregnable island stronghold of Lanka (after which Sri Lanka was named), which was unassailable from across the sea. Rama was assisted in building a massive land bridge that led to the fortress where Sita was being held by his army of monkeys and mythical forest creatures devoted to their king. Varana, the ape-like creatures, then assisted Rama in capturing the fortress and killing Ravana. Today’s experts estimate that this bridge is at most 125,000 years old. This age obviously differs from the age of the bridge referenced in the Ramayana, despite being outside the purview of geology. Only historical evidence allows us to confirm this. Some people contend...
