Akshaye Khanna was born in Mumbai in 1975. He is the middle son of Bollywood actor and politician Vinod Khanna, and the younger brother of actor Rahul Khanna. After studying in Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute in Mumbai, Khanna made his acting debut in Bollywood in 1997 with the movie Himalay Putra, which went without much success at box.

In an interview with the Hindustan Times, when asked why he is still unmarried at the age of 44, the actor gave a very logical reason for the same and said, "I don’t see myself (getting married), I’m not marriage material, as they say. I’m not cut out for that kind of… (we ask if it’s commitment)… not that, but that kind of life.

The actor, who impressed one and all with his stupendous performance in ‘Section 357’, recently opened up about up about his personal life.Speaking about why he has never got into a relationship or got hitched yet, Akshaye reportedly revealed that he does not see himself as the marriage material.
